Gender influence in elderly patients hospital visits
This paper is a presentation of a ten day observation made in a hospital geriatric section. The observations were made and recorded in the out patient area of the hospital by a hospital staff member. The reason for the observation was to collect data to see if family care providers for the elderly are gender biased. The information obtained over the ten day survey revealed that more male family members were in attendance at the hospital with the elderly. Reasons are offered in the conclusion as to why family members who care for their elderly relatives are gender biased to be males.
